I'm "Back"!

Wow, long time no post! I have an excuse tho. I've been laid up with a ruptured disk, and only just recently been cleared to work again. Which includes art work as well, I was put on a strict no-sitting diet. But I'm back on the horse and the first major work of the break is my entry for the Blizzard Games art contest. I'm not sure if my entry went through last night, but I had 3 days to complete this. I hope you(and the judges) enjoy it! I will also try to scan in some of the sketches I did while horizontal, I did some neat King Kong sketches while I was watching the DVD. See ya soon!

Lunchtime Fun

Went for a walk today at lunch, it looked like this out, but was in the middle of our corporate area. This is what it would have been like in the park. I made this one as a email gift for my wife.

Comic project in progress post

Here is a nifty little progress set for the comic project I'm working on for my portfolio. I have the pencils, inks, and two stages of color. I'm putting together a completely separate site to host this project so when I finally finish this first page I will link it here for your enjoyment!

Finally! Workplace sketches return!

Sorry about the long absence, I've been working on my webcomic and comic book a lot and haven't been working on anything generic. I will post some stuff from those two projects when I have more content for them. Anyhoo, here are a couple recent things I've scratched onto paper during meetings(first one) or waiting around outside(second). BTW, the outside of our offices does NOT look like this. It was inspired by a bush.

Visit to the Folks

This weekend, my little family and I went up north to visit my relocated folks. So I took a moment or two to sketch a picture or their home.

Cool project at work

That's right, I finally got a cool illustration project to do for my job! I won't go into detail, but I had to design two illustrations to be displayed at 18" x 24" for a tradeshow that would be used during a demonstration. I have included the finals, the mockups that I pitched and only one rough sketch, as I forgot to scan the first one at that stage. I have to tell you, I didn't get nearly the time I would have liked to complete these, as it was a hideous "Rush" job. I definitely had more planned for them.

Cool new Photoshop trick!!

I learned this neato trick for PS where you can make ordinary photos appear to be tiny models or minatures. Here are my first few attempts.
